A guide to help you choose between traditional comprehensive cover and pay-as-you-drive insurance — based on your driving habits.
Traditional comprehensive insurance charges a fixed premium regardless of how much you drive. Pay-As-You-Drive (PAYD) rewards you with a lower premium when you commit to driving within a set mileage limit each year.

With SOMPO MotorSafe, if you exceed your chosen mileage plan and the 500 km grace mileage without purchasing a top-up, your cover will be reduced to Third Party only. This means damage to your own car from accidents will not be covered. You can restore full Comprehensive cover by purchasing a mileage top-up. If your car is under a Hire Purchase agreement, please note that exceeding your mileage without top-up means you may no longer meet your financier's requirement for comprehensive cover.
Odometer accuracy: For MotorSafe, an accurate odometer reading and photo at inception and a functioning odometer are required. Own-damage claims may not be paid if the odometer is tampered with, incorrect at inception, or left unrepaired when faulty.
